Social Networking For Etsy Shop Owners

How do you build your social network as a business? It really is pretty simple, be human. As an Etsy shop owner you probably have a personal Facebook profile and a Facebook Page for your Etsy shop. You probably have a personal Twitter and a Twitter for your Etsy shop. You may even have a personal Pinterest and a Pinterest for your Etsy shop.

I have doubles of everything when it comes to social networks, some things I even have triple or quadruples! How do I manage all of these social network profiles? The short answer i automation! That and I spend a lot of time linking my social networks to one another.

Over the next few weeks I will be talking about how to build your social networks. I will show you how to link your social networks together and how to use free tools to automate your social networks. I hope you will join in discussions that might help to answer a few questions.

For today I would like you to make a list of what social networks you use. Post them here in the comments section. Don't post any links to your networks just a list of which ones you use.

  1. Hi.
Looking forward to your report using social media.
I'm not very good about this, I do have a personal and bus FB page, twitter and Pinterest.
I know I need to get more involved in posting, especially on FB but it is not my favorite thing to do, hope your report will help me overcome my reluctance.
    Thank you.

    1. Elly, I, too, hope that some of what I will share will help you out. It isn't always easy learning new things or making time for new things. Social networking is here to stay and the more you can force yourself to utilize it the more you will benefit.

  2. I find 95% of social media annoying, so I don't use it. I have a personal blog that used to get a reasonable amount of traffic, but that has dropped off considerably since I started posting "merchandise" there alongside my other projects. Apparently I'm not good at integrating "commercial" stuff with my personal life, and the idea of using social media for commercial use doesn't appeal to me at all. I know a lot are successful with it, but others just aren't.

    1. Sure, 95% of social media is annoying. Unfortunately, it is the current best way to advertise and promote your shop. You can either jump on the bandwagon and make it work for you or continue to ignore all of the potential benefits. I am not chastising you personally as you are in a huge group of people who are reluctant to utilize the tools. I just want you to be able to gain some of the potential growth using social media.

    2. I'm looking forward to how to automate social media, Mark. Thank you! It's hard to keep up with everything on social media, and manage to take the photos and do the work, not to mention the commissions that come in. I do FB, blog, website, Flickr, Pinterest and LinkedIn, and there are a few team things that include a blog, Pinterest and FB. I'm not one of those plugged in people, really, so I find the tasks onerous. Anything you can do to make my life easier, I'm listening!

  3. Mostly Pinterest and Facebook.
I also have accounts on Twitter, Blogger, Instagram, Flickr, LinkedIn and Wanelo; don't do much with any of these though.

    1. Facebook and Pinterest are excellent choices, Twitter as well. I'll admit I never got much into Flickr or Instagram or other photo sharing other than Pinterest. I have always been more into sharing content. Of course, I have to limit what I do because of time constraints as well.
