How To Get 40 FREE Listings On Etsy!

Etsy has come up with a great idea, a rewards program! Well, It is sort of a rewards program. You get someone to open a shop through a link you provide and you both get 40 free listings. So, maybe an incentive program is a better way of looking at it.

When you are logged into your Etsy account you'll notice on the left hand side there are several clickable options. If you look down a few items you'll see "Earn Free Listings" right after "Listing Manager." Clicking on it brings you to the image above. There you can Tweet it or post it to your Facebook page along with a few other options to share your link.

This is a great way to help you convince your friends or family to finally open up a shop on Etsy. Now, if any of you readers do not already have an Etsy shop, you can use my link to set up your shop: http://etsy.me/17UMv50 and we will both get 40 free listings. How cool is that?

Now some of you might not think that 40 free listings is a lot, but when you have tons of listings that are expiring every day, every little bit helps. So, don't think of it as just a free $8 in listings, think of it as 40 renewals or 40 new products. And If you manage to get four people to sign up through your link then you can think of it as 40 free listings for the entire year!

Etsy Goals for 2013

What kind of goals have you set for this year? Have you, like many others, set a goal of doubling your income. Or perhaps you have set a goal of adding 100 new items to your shop. Regardless of what goal you set, you are going to need to find a way to reach that goal.

For me, I have decided to set a goal of doubling my sales from 2012. I am pretty specific in my goals as well. I don't just want to double the number of items sold, I want to double the entire income of 2012. It is a pretty lofty goal but I think goals should be high. No reason to aim low when you can aim high!

Now, I have to come up with a plan to meet my goals and it doesn't just mean doubling my stock. In all actuality I probably need to triple my stock to double my sales. It is called diminishing returns. What is diminishing returns? A yield rate that after a certain point fails to increase proportionately to additional outlays of capital or investments of time and labor. In simple terms it means that when you get to a certain point you can no longer double your profits by doubling your stock. (Okay, it means much more than that, but that will do for now.)

So, for the next few articles I would like to talk about ways other than increasing your amount of items to achieve more sales. I do not have all the answers. In fact I probably only have a handful of answers in the grand scheme of things. So, I encourage you to share what you have done that has helped increase your sales. I also encourage you to share what didn't work!

Fine Tune Your Etsy Listing

Some of you may have already noticed that when you preview a listing before publishing you now have the ability to tweak your listing photo. You can now crop the image so that you have control over how it looks in the search view as well as anywhere else that the image is shown on Etsy.

As you can see above, it only changes the small block view. It does not change any of your photos in your listing. This is really great for making sure your image is "Treasury Worthy." It also gives you the ability to make sure your image shows the important details of your listing.

Etsy is always looking to improve your chance to sell an item. Sometimes it may not seem like it, but then one of these little changes comes along that makes everyone's life a little easier.
