Free Etsy Shop Link Day!
And we're back, I think.... There were some interesting technical problems over the last few weeks and I am pretty confidant that those are now cleared up. There was some lost data and some other glitches that just reminds me that I need to back EVERYTHING up. Lesson learned.
To get back into the swing of things I would like to invite all of you to reply with your Etsy or Artfire or any other shop link. (That is of course within reason and not anything in the R-Rated area) I will do this from time to time to make sure that all of the new followers have a chance to see what you are doing with your shop.
In further news, I am in the process of writing some mini-books on Relevancy, Advertising, SEO and more for your Etsy Shops. Each of these mini-books will be 5 to 7 pages long and will be broken into beginner, intermediate and expert level. I plan to open an Etsy shop and sell these books as well as selling them directly from my website. What would you price them at?

Houston, We Have A Problem
It would seem that the last few scheduled posts completely disappeared completely and were never posted. So, I am going back through my notes and trying to recreate a week's worth of information!
In the meantime, read this article about ArtFire: http://marketmyshop.blogspot.com/2011/10/artfire-online-marketplace.html They may be raising their rates again but they have a whole lot going for them. In many ways I like them better than Etsy. Anyhow, check it out for your self and see what you think.

Benefits of Free Shipping
Free shipping in your Etsy or ArtFire shop? That is crazy! Wait a minute, this could actually work...
I know it sounds like a no win situation but in reality it is a Win/Win situation! You add shipping to all of your items and offer free shipping. You also do not charge if it is purchased with something else. This is for domestic shipping of course. You still charge shipping on International orders but you take the Domestic charge out first. Here is an example:
Fabulous Item
Retail cost: $15
Actual Domestic Shipping with Materials: $3
International Shipping with Materials: $7
Listing Price: $18 w/ Free Shipping
International Shipping $4
Now if your customer buys a second item, they will also be paying full shipping in the cost of the item. You win. The customer wins. Everybody is happy. It may take you a while to change over your shop, but you will see an increase in sales.

And, We're Back!
Hello, everyone! After a crazy Christmas Season I am finally back. I will be continuing my series on how to market your Etsy, ArtFire and any online shop that you care to have. Starting tomorrow I will delve right into why free shipping is the way to go.
